Chris Wolski, Chief Information Security Officer for Herman Miller Inc., spoke about Cloud Security. His presentation focused on the importance of understanding the level of effort required for mitigating risks that third-party cloud services (SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS) represent to an organization. Depending on the service, it may not be possible to conduct a thorough direct assessment of the services, which is necessary to ensure securing the organization’s data. He authored a paper on the topic that is available to ISSA members in the October 2018 issue of the ISSA Journal.
Chapter member Rob Cook also discussed his experience building a log management platform using Elastic Stack for a large healthcare system.
